Lectures in summer semester 2018

Grundlagen der Künstlichen Intelligenz

Die Vorlesung vermittelt eine Einführung in die grundlegenden Sichtweisen, Probleme, Methoden und Techniken der Künstlichen Intelligenz. Es werden u.a. folgende Themen behandelt:

  • Einführung und historische Entwicklung der KI
  • Der Agentenbegriff in der KI
  • Problemlösen und Suche
  • Logik und Repräsentation
  • Handlungsplanung
  • Darstellung und Verarbeitung unsicheren Wissens
  • Maschinelles Lernen
Course type: Lecture
Lecturers: Prof. Dr. Wolfram Burgard, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Nebel and Dr. Frank Hutter

Game Theory

Game Theory is concerned with rational decision making to further one's own goals, and in particular with interactions and conflicts between goals of different players. Game theory studies how knowledge about other players' objectives influences one's own decisions and behavior.

Course type: Lecture
Lecturers: Prof. Dr. Bernhard Nebel and Dr. Robert Mattmüller

Knowledge Representation and Reasoning

The course provides a detailed introduction to the techniques that form the basis of advanced systems for knowledge representation and automatic reasoning: semantic networks and inheritance, description logics, non-monotonic reasoning (default logic, cumulative logic, answer set programming) as well as temporal and spatial constraint-based reasoning.

Course type: Lecture
Lecturers: Prof. Dr. Bernhard Nebel and Prof. Dr. Felix Lindner (Juniorprof.)

Robotics Lab Course: Social Robotics

This course gives hands-on experience in the design and implementation of social robots.

Seminar: KI im Alltag - heute und morgen

In this seminar we will discuss artificial intelligence techniques used in everyday life. On the basis of original literature, we strive to examine the underlying procedures and algorithms, as well as practical applications in current and future everyday life.

Course type: Seminar
Organizers: Prof. Dr. Bernhard Nebel, Dr. Tim Schulte, Dr. Thorsten Engesser and Dr. Florian Geißer
