About me
I received a diploma in computer science
(Dipl.-Informatiker) from the University of
Bielefeld in June 2003.
Afterwards, I have been research assistant and faculty at
Bielefeld University's Artificial Intelligence group until
July 2008. After receiving my doctoral degree I joined the
Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute (ATR) in Kyoto, Japan,
conducting research together with Prof. Hiroshi Ishiguro on
emotional effects of the android robots of the Geminoid series.
After my return to Germany I joined Prof. Nebel's research group at the University of Freiburg, where I became Junior Fellow at the
Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) to conduct
interdisciplinary research on "coping with emergencies."
From January 2012 until June 2015 I was lecturer in Prof. Nebel's group focusing on affect simulation and presence in Virtual Reality and Social Robotics.
